How to step outside of your perceptions
There is an NLP technique that works on the basis that when you interact with another person, you are essentially interacting with the idea of that person you already have in your head.
The technique takes us outside of that habitual idea of the other person and creates more choice in how you interact. When you have more choice and you take a different approach, that opens up the possibility for the other person to also adjust their behaviour.
It’s a great technique for improving relationships – both personal and professional – and can be the key to unlocking an interaction that has become ‘stuck’ in bad feelings, polarised points of view or a complete lack of empathy.
